Indubitable is defined as: “impossible to doubt; unquestionable,” coming from the direct translation of its Latin root indubitabilis. Indubitable is a succinct and fun way to declare certainty. All five syllables roll off the tongue with a thrust of confidence. There is a hint of pomp that is mellowed by assurance. The suggestion is made that anyone who asserts something as indubitable must have done their due diligence. While it may be an antique word, its use is certainly not antiquated. A simple Google search will display the words steady decline in usage since 1800. However, it’s power to snatch the observer’s attention remains intact. In fact, infrequency has only compounded its gilded charm. Be it by matter of fact or consensus, an indubitable thing is to be trusted.
The mission of The Indubitable is to muse upon a few subjects that I understand with certainty. I want to explore some of the simple truths that add color to our lives. They will be broken down into four categories: Art, Style, Music, and Philosophy. Art to interoperate the world as we see it, Style to express how we see ourselves, Philosophy to understand our place in the world, and Music to soundtrack it all. These pillars of humanity are as simple or complex as we choose to make them. One could stroll idly through life without indulging in any of them but I dare to say that would no life at all. So let us indulge!
